The Future Assembly

This is a project that has very sympathetic aims to Future Views…

Annette Mees has asked us to share this call to participate in The Future Assembly at Oval House, London, on 10th and 11th of September, 10-5pm both days.

The Future Assembly is about young and old working together to design a collective future we can all believe in. The story we tell about our future heavily shapes the life we live in the present. Can we create that story together, across society, generations and cities rather than inherit the story written behind closed doors? It starts a national conversation to uncover visions of the possible futures that can inspire us all. We’re really keen to get the right people there and we’d love it if you were interested and able to be part of the two-day lab. Help us bring a positive, creative voice to the post referendum debate.

The Future Assembly works by bringing together teenagers and over 60s to start creating a vision for the future. In a two-day intensive Future/Change Lab we will use various tools to co-create a vision of the kind of the futures we want to happen 10 years from now. We will develop a manifesto for a future UK where we get what we need to thrive. This will be one of four Future Assemblies happening across the country – so your contribution will also be part of a national project. What kind of UK do we want to hand over to 2026?

Two quotes from participants in the first session that was run in Liverpool:

Maya M. says… “Truly an unique and stimulating experience. It was incredible to be pioneers of project and I was so inspired by the people who collaborated and worked on the project and the participants I met at the Unity Liverpool /Future Assembly. It was a fantastic way to get to know people. Thank you for the opportunity.”

Anna S. says…”It was amazing and made me think long and hard about the past, the now and the future! Lovely people generous with their time and energy. Thanks to all who made it such an entertaining and rewarding two days.”
